Paula has 12 years of experience as a secondary math teacher and years of experience in the residential and commercial real estate industry. Her professional career began as a teacher in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools system where she taught algebra, geometry, trigonometry and calculus.
After earning her real estate license in 1985, Paula left her teaching career to join Mary Ryder Realty, a 3-branch, 140-agent, residential real estate company where she was the Corporate Relocation Director and Business Operations Director. During this time Paula specialized in real estate relocation. In that position, Paula coordinated the acquisition and disposition of corporate homes with relocation companies that included Travelers, Marriott, DuPont, Bank of America and Home Equity. Paula also served as part of a multi-real estate company coordination of several corporate group moves which included Gold Bond, Royal Insurance, Hoechst-Celanese, SEM Products, American Express, SeaLand and others. As Business Operations Director for Mary Ryder Realty, she supervised the marketing, advertising, referral and accounting departments and coordinated all intra-branch activities, events and promotions. After the acquisition of Mary Ryder Realty in 1996 by Coldwell Banker, Paula served as Relocation and Corporate Homes Director.
In 1997 Paula joined The Bissell Companies, one of the largest commercial real estate firms in the Charlotte region, as the Executive Assistant to the President and Senior Vice President of one of its entities, Bissell Patrick, LLC. In her 13 years with Bissell Patrick her position included serving as Broker-In-Charge of the seven-agent office and Office Manager where she managed all office business, human resources, marketing, advertising and served as the Executive Assistant to the President of the Company.
Since the merger, which formed MPV Properties in 2010, Paula has served as the Executive Assistant to one of the Managing Partners, and was formerly Broker-In-Charge up until 2019.
Paula has a B.S. degree in Mathematics from UNC-Charlotte. She holds a Broker’s license in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia and also holds the Graduate REALTOR® Institute (GRI) and Certified Relocation Specialist (CRS) designations. She is a member of CRCBR, NCAR and NAR. Paula and her husband were recipients of the Charlotte Volunteer of the Year Award in 2011 for their volunteer service with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Paula has been married for 44 years and has 2 sons and 4 grandchildren.
