Charlotte’s South End area had historically been largely industrial. But once plans for Charlotte’s new LYNX light rail were announced, MPV saw the opportunity to acquire a prime parcel of land along South Boulevard ahead of the boom. In 2016, MPV Properties oversaw the development and leasing of 2400 South, a 3-story, mixed-use building encompassing 36,000 square feet. MPV’s team was able to lease the building fully within a year of its completion. In the process, MPV:
- Rezoned land for office and retail use
- Added to the CLT Rail Trail walking path, complete with an 160-foot comic art mural with nods to Charlotte’s rich history
Result: 2400 South Boulevard is now nestled among long-standing South End staples like Cannon Pharmacy, and newly developed multi-family projects. MPV Properties occupies the third floor of the building. Other occupants include Novant Health, Truliant Federal Credit Union, Jimmy John’s, Rejuvenate Med Spa, South Boulevard Dental, Blooming Smiles Pediatric Dentistry, and Physical Therapy Center.
