“SouthEnd Village is a very special project for our district. This was one of the first true mixed-use projects in South End. The neighborhood used to be mostly manufacturing or industrial, but projects like SouthEnd Village embrace the past history while adding a new urban design residential component.”
James B.Mathis, III, Director of Historic South End
MPV Properties predecessor, Merrifield Partners, acted as principal in renovating an historic structure and adding commercial space in conjunction with the redevelopment of the SouthEnd Village block. The project, developed in conjunction with Boulevard Centro’s development of a 120-unit condominium project, transformed and revitalized an underutilized block in the SouthEnd area. SouthEnd Village provides a key transition from the Dilworth area to South Boulevard.
The following objectives were met:
- Renovated a 1930’s-era structure and added a three-story commercial space
- Developed the three-story SouthEnd Village Lofts including 5,028 square feet of commercial space and 20 residential units
