TreesCharlotte, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving Charlotte’s tree canopy, recently had help from several MPV Properties employees and family members at their latest NeighborWoods event this past Saturday. MPV, along with roughly 270 other volunteers, helped to plant 240 trees on the campus of Polo Ridge Elementary, and neighboring Flatbranch Park. Certified arborists assisted volunteers in the correct planting of the trees, and they will continue to check the success of the newly planted trees through next year. All trees planted or given away by TreesCharlotte are purchased with private donations.

Councilman Ed Driggs delivered opening remarks at the event. Also in attendance was CMS superintendent Ann Clark, and Dave Cable of TreesCharlotte. In addition to their NeighborWoods program, the organization is launching its inaugural Arbor Week celebration this March 12-19. More information is available on TreesCharlotte website, treescharlotte.org.
