George Macon’s responsibilities with MPV Properties include land and vertical development for numerous office, medical, retail, and mixed-use projects in the Charlotte area. George sources and structures new development ventures; coordinates and manages financial feasibility, rezoning, project design and construction, marketing, and sales for his projects.
Since joining Merrifield Partners in 2001, George has developed 34 office, medical office, and retail shop buildings, totaling 1,000,000 square feet. George’s major projects include Blakeney (30-acre medical/professional office park), Bryant Park (40-acre mixed use urban infill development), SteeleCroft Office, Hunters Crossing, Jetton Medical, Denver Medical Office Park, Reafield Village, and Marvin Crossing. Some of George’s more noteworthy transactions include the Charlotte School of Law (100,000 square feet), Elevation Church (Multiple BTS projects totaling over 200,000 square feet), Novant Medical Group (Multiple BTS projects totaling over 100,000 square feet).
George previously worked with the Duke Realty Corporation (DRE), a $5 billion market capitalization office industrial REIT headquartered in Indianapolis. His responsibilities included financial analysis, leasing, and asset management.
George received a B.A. in Geology – Environmental Studies from Washington and Lee University in 1993 and a M.B.A. with a concentration in finance from Vanderbilt University in 1999. He is a licensed real estate broker in North Carolina and South Carolina and has been a multiyear recipient of the Charlotte Region Commercial Board of Realtors “Multi Million Dollar Club” award. George is a former member of the CRCBR Board of Directors.
