Charlotte Mecklenburg Library’s Scaleybark Library officially opened as South Boulevard Library at its new location today, 4429 South Boulevard. The building underwent a total renovation, now providing 18,850 SF of space, a 300% increase in what they had at their prior location. The expanded footprint has allowed for spaces for both children and teens, three self-checkouts, an expanded community room, a dedicated children’s program room, and other dedicated rooms such as a computer lab, quiet reading room, a calming room, and five group rooms. To learn more about all the library has to offer, read their post, Welcome to South Boulevard Library.

Charlotte Mecklenburg Library will host a Grand Re-Opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony and activities inside the branch on February 15, 2020 at 10:00 am.

Mark NewellBailey Patrick Jr, and Bailey Patrick of MPV have been responsible for leasing and developing the project, and Robert Johnson Architects, Geoscience and Shiel Sexton have been the key contractors involved.
