Honeywell International Inc. is expanding in northern Lancaster County, adding 20,000 square feet to the headquarters of its scanning and mobility division.

The company is adding on to its 40,000-square-foot building in Bailes Ridge Corporate Park, on Old Bailes Road off of S.C. Highway 160.

The addition is needed to accommodate growth at the scanning and mobility division, which manufactures high-performance image and laser-based data collection hardware, including the rugged mobile computers and bar code scanners used by the likes of UPS and FedEx Corp.

The company has about 150 employees on site.

Four buildings have been developed in the park, including two occupied by Grace Communications Inc. and window and door manufacturer Jeld-Wen. A 12,000-square-foot flex building remains available for lease or for sale.

Mike Bilodeau with Merrifield Patrick Vermillion represented the building’s owner, a Crosland affiliate called HH Bailes. Honeywell was represented locally by Rob Speir of Colliers International.
