MPV Properties’ Mike Bilodeau, Steve Vermillion, and managing partner, Jim Merrifield, represented the company at the first of three potential rezoning votes in front of the Lancaster County Council regarding 30 acres off Highway 521 and Highway 160. The Mecklenburg Times covered the meeting in their article, Lancaster gives 1st OK to rezoning:

The county’s planning staff recommended the approval of the rezoning from low-density and moderate-density residential and agricultural use. The county Planning Commission on Dec. 16 also recommended approval.

Planning Director Penelope G. Karagounis said the land ultimately is expected to be zoned as neighborhood mixed-use/pedestrian center, and that MPV indicated that the development will conform to that.

MPV Properties also indicated the potential to include retail and commercial components in the development of the land. The vote passed 5 to 0.
