Charlotte, NC (July, 2016) – MPV Properties (MPV) announces more tenants for its RedStone Development in Indian Land, SC. In addition to Stone Theatres, Portofino’s Ristorante Italiano e Pizzeria, Red Rocks Café, Sharonview Federal Credit Union, Lee Spa Nails, and Moe’s Southwest Grill, leases have been signed with the following:
Z’s Amazing Kitchen – Prepare to be amazed with the endless variety, incredible value, and accommodating staff that can only be found at Z’s Amazing Kitchen. This premium fast-casual restaurant first opened its doors in September 2015, in North Myrtle Beach, SC. Due to their rapid success and incredible feedback, they are expanding to Charlotte with RedStone as their first location in the market. The restaurant boasts a state-of-the-art open kitchen, where every dish is prepared fresh and hand-delivered to your table in 10 minutes or less.
Viva Chicken – RedStone will mark Viva Chicken’s 7th location, the first of which opened in St. George, Utah. Partners Dennis Thompson, Randy Garcia, and Bruno Macchiavello created the high quality concept which features fresh Peruvian food, outstanding customer service, and an upbeat atmosphere, all at a reasonable price point.
WAFU Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar – After successfully mastering his authentic Asian cuisine in South Carolina, Kai (Louis) Lui has his sights set on the Charlotte market. Tsunami and Wild Ginger, two of Lui’s restaurants located in Mt. Pleasant and Summerville, SC, respectively, have been very successful. Lui is excited to expand another of his new fresh and modern Asian cuisine concepts to this market.
Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt – Menchie’s, a self-serve frozen yogurt franchise, began as a single store in Southern California, and evolved into a global presence in the frozen yogurt retail space. Children are drawn to the swirly, froyo-hatted mascot, Menchie, and his “Sweet Friends,” while families are attracted to the laid-back and welcoming atmosphere of each store. The owners are looking forward to their RedStone location becoming a place for family and friends to come together and create lasting memories.
Penn Station East Coast Subs – Founded in Cincinnati, OH, in 1985, Penn Station East Coast Subs serves a variety of grilled and cold deli sandwiches, made to order with high-quality ingredients on freshly baked bread. The menu also includes hand-cut fries, hand-squeezed lemonade, and chocolate chunk cookies which are baked fresh throughout the day. Marc Nagy, a resident of Cornelius, currently owns three Penn Station East Coast Subs in NC with managing owner, Andrew Lofaro. Nagy will open his next location at RedStone, and has plans to build 1-3 more stores in the Charlotte area. Penn Station has more than 300 locations in 15 states, and was named the best sandwich chain in the Nation’s Restaurant News 2015 Consumer Picks survey.
Contracts have also been signed with the following tenants, with anticipated closings by year-end:
Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers – Freddy’s, now a national restaurant chain, was co-founded in 2002 by Scott Redler, and brothers Bill and Randy Simon. The restaurant was named after the brothers’ father, Freddy Simon, a World War II veteran who used to prepare the all-American meals the restaurant chain still serves up today for his family. Moseley Real Estate Advisors represents Freddy’s.
Tide Dry Cleaners – Tide Dry Cleaners is franchised and operated locally by brothers Henry and David Atkins, who opened the first location in the Carolinas. RedStone will mark their second location. Tide Dry Cleaners delivers an unrivaled level of cleanliness and care for your most cherished garments, and the ultimate in convenience and customer service with its drive-thru valet and 24-hour services. There are currently 42 stores operating in 17 states throughout the US.
These newly announced tenants are part of Phase I of the RedStone development, which will contain a total of 54,900 SF of retail shop space, in addition to the 55,400 SF movie theater. When complete, the center will serve as a major retail hub serving residents of Indian land, Ballantyne, south Charlotte, Fort Mill, western Union County, and all of Lancaster County.
RedStone is located in northern Lancaster County at the intersection of Highway 521 and Highway 160. Steve Vermillion and Mike Bilodeau of MPV Properties are leading the development of the project and Keely Hines is responsible for leasing.

Any shopping coming, great need out here for good shopping, not Walmart, etc PLEASE!
Hi Melinda, thanks for your feedback! We are working on it! Good progress has been made on the leasing side of things, but there is still plenty of space for smaller merchandise retailers. In the end, RedStone will contain broad mix of tenants so that it serves as the entertainment AND shopping destination this growing area needs.
We will continue to post updates on newly signed tenants as we can!
Any plans for a Petsmart, Fresh Market, Trader Joe’s??
I’ve heard a rumor that Trader Joe’s is coming to Red Stone. Any truth to this??
Hi Andrea, that is another popular rumor, but like Target, it’s just a rumor. We will announce our new anchor tenant for Phase II once they have signed on.
Would love to see a Fresh Market over here, too! Hope there is lots of green space & pedestrian friendly .. more like Promenade at Providence and less like Blakeney in terms of layout.
Any anchors? We need a grocery store, Harris Teeter or Target, please.
It would be a fantastic location for a Target being so close to many neighborhoods and schools. I know many already think there will be one in this development, though at this point it appears to be wishful thinking.
Wow! It’s great to see such an interest in our development. Sorry this doesn’t quite answer all your questions, but there is space for a junior anchor as part of Phase I, and in Phase II there are plans to add a grocer. The brokers are still busy leasing the property, and we will continue to announce new tenants as they get signed.
We desperately need a Trader Joes. I love the store but hate the shopping center where they’re located on Rae Rd. Harris Teeter and Publix are a dime a dozen so no need for another.
Can you solve the mystery about Target? Everyone has said that will definitely be in this center. Is that truth or fiction? Thanks for the clarification.
Hi JTB, not sure who is saying that, but at this time there are no plans for a Target. Sorry, totally fiction.
TARGET!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!
What is the lease rate? Need 2500 sq.ft. Visible from the road frontage or at road front if possible.
Hi Ashton, if you contact Keely Hines, the leasing broker for RedStone, she can help you out.
Hi team,
Any chance we could get TJ Max over there????
Hi Jess,
There is room for junior anchor… no word on who that will be just yet.
I hope it is target too. Need an upscale restaurant and some stores other than fast food.
Where can we find the full list of tenants currently signed to be in RedStone?
Hi Scott,
The most up-to-date information is listed on our website under “Available Properties”. Click here for a direct link to RedStone. Click here for the most current leasing plan with tenant activity (as of December 15, 2016).
Noodles and Company?
When will stores begin to open and be available to the public?
Hi Erica, thanks for your inquiry. The expected opening will be sometime in the fall/winter of this year, 2017. We will post more information about a grand opening of RedStone as we get closer to the date!
Is everything still on target for fall/winter of this year?
The delivery date has been pushed out slightly to 1st quarter 2018… since development is actually underway, this is a solid delivery date (it’s hard to predict exactly when a project will be finished before construction begins). With the opening of the new Stone Theatres, we will hold a grand opening for the community. We hope you can attend!
I am extremely excited about RedStone! Particularly the movie theater. The new infrastructure will be great for the community; however, traffic on Hwy 521 is already very congested. What plans are in the works to accommodate for the increase in traffic? Will there be only one entrance and exit point for the development?
Hi Kim,
Thanks for your interest in RedStone! Phase I of the project (being developed now) will have one point of entry / exit. A traffic study concluded two turn lanes (heading south) and one turn lane (heading north) would be required for this phase, and those improvements have been made.
When phase II is completed, we will add a second point of entry/exit into RedStone – from the Hwy. 160 / 521 intersection.
I hope that helps answer your question. Unfortunately the congestion along 521 is a Indian Land/county/state issue which we cannot control, though we have done our part on the development side to make sure traffic can flow smoothly in and out of the center.
Could we get a Marshalls and Home Goods stores…
