Charlotte, NC (December, 2016)MPV Properties (MPV) Two major tenants have announced new stores at Strawberry Hill shopping center, located at the corner of Providence Road and Sardis Road in Charlotte, NC. The Fresh Market will be opening a new 23,000 SF store along Providence Road, and BB&T will be relocating to a new facility near their existing building.

Redevelopment work is about to begin at Strawberry Hill. In 2015, MPV successfully represented the owner, Marsh Properties, in the rezoning of 2.65 acres that was originally intended for office use. Plans for the center now include expansion along Providence Road to make room for a new building for The Fresh Market. In addition, the existing structure where BB&T currently resides will be demolished to make room for three new buildings, one of which will be for BB&T. The other two buildings are being leased to other retail tenants.

“Strawberry Hill is located within a prominent intersection in Charlotte. The planned redevelopment will increase visibility of the center, while providing area residents with more retail options,” says Steve Vermillion, Managing Partner at MPV Properties.

Once complete, 36,000 SF of retail space will be added to Strawberry Hill. The new small shop space is expected to be delivered by March of 2018. The Fresh Market’s newly constructed building and renovation of their old space will be delivered in the first quarter of 2018.
