With a strong background of plus years working in the retail industry, Stephen Pharr brings over years of experience in commercial real estate to MPV. He started his retail career in Atlanta at Waffle House, then later with Wendy’s and other fast casual groups. This blossomed into a career in commercial real estate, in which Stephen has been an integral part in millions of square feet of transactions, including traditional power and lifestyle shopping centers, ground-up retail developments, specialty mixed-use projects, investments, and tenant roll outs in multiple trade areas throughout the Carolinas, Georgia and Texas.
Stephen enjoys helping tenants solve their internal goals through site selection, trade area study, and cost control. Sample retail transactions include Bojangles’, Cracker Barrel, CVS, Harris Teeter, Hilton Garden Inn, Marshall’s, Office Depot, Panera Bread, Starbucks, Taco Bell, Trader Joe’s, Verizon, West Elm, Zaxby’s, and Zoë’s Kitchen. His project leasing portfolio includes Metropolitan, Cotswold Village, Myers Park Center, Magnolia Park, Highwoods Square, Renaissance Square, and Willow Oaks. In addition to working with regional and local developers and owners, Pharr has also handled assets for a number of large institutional clients.
Prior to joining MPV Properties, Stephen was Director of Brokerage at Collett, a Charlotte-based full service regional development firm. There, he led the company’s expansion into the Southeast and Midwest with the opening of their Greenville (SC) and Dallas offices. Through the process, Pharr helped grow Collett’s leasing, landlord/tenant and buyer representation, freestanding outparcel development, and investment platforms.
Stephen received his Bachelor of Science degree in Management from Georgia Tech in 1993. He is a member of Charlotte Regional Commercial Board of Realtors (CRCBR), International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), and a past board member of the Lupus Foundation of America, North Carolina Chapter. Stephen holds real estate licenses in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. He resides in Charlotte with his wife and two daughters.
